Poise (P): multiples and submultiples |
1 P = 1 g cm-1 s-1
The poise is the unit of dynamic viscosity (absolute viscosity) in the centimetregramsecond system of units (CGS). It is named after Jean Léonard Marie Poiseuille (see HagenPoiseuille equation). The centipoise (1 cP = 0.01 P) is more commonly used than the poise itself. 10 P = 1 kg m-1 s-1 = 1 Pa s 1 cP = 0,001 Pa s = 1 mPa s |
